Effective Date: August 16, 2025
Equitas Solutions LLC (“Equitas,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use our website (www.equitasolutions.com) or services. It applies to all users—Customers seeking services and Contractors providing services. By using our site or services, you agree to this Policy.
We focus on U.S. users and operations. Where required, we provide additional notices for California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia/Colorado/Connecticut and other U.S. states with privacy laws, and for the EEA/UK (GDPR).
1) Summary & Notice at Collection (What we collect and why)
We collect the categories below for the purposes indicated.
Identifiers (name, email, phone, address, IP, device IDs) — to deliver and improve services; match Customers with Contractors; prevent fraud; comply with law.
Commercial/Lead info (project details, service categories, interactions with leads) — to route exclusive leads; facilitate estimates; support our records.
Communications (emails, calls, texts, chat logs, voicemails) — to provide support, quality assurance, and recordkeeping.
Photos/Videos you submit — to describe projects or showcase work.
Payment/Transactional info (tokenized by processor; billing details) — to process Contractor lead fees or other transactions.
Internet/electronic activity (pages viewed, clicks, referral URLs, device/browser data, general location) — via cookies, analytics, and pixels to secure, operate, and improve our site; measure marketing effectiveness.
Inferences — we do not build sensitive profiles; we may derive simple service interest segments (e.g., “interested in exterior cleaning”).
Sensitive information — we do not intentionally collect sensitive data (e.g., SSN, health). Payment card data is handled by a PCI-compliant processor; we do not store full card numbers.
Retention (high level): We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes stated (e.g., active relationship, legal/accounting needs), then delete or anonymize it.
2) Sources of Personal Data
- Directly from you (quote/lead forms, emails, calls/texts, uploads).
- Automatically via cookies, pixels, and analytics when you use the site.
- From third parties (e.g., referral partners) or when a Customer provides a Contractor’s contact to invite them.
3) How We Use Personal Data
- Provide & improve the Service: match Customers with relevant Contractors; enable exclusive-lead delivery; coordinate estimates; maintain service quality.
- Operate accounts & notifications: confirmations, updates, invoices/receipts, policy changes, security alerts.
- Customer/Contractor communications: respond to inquiries; facilitate contact for a requested job.
- Marketing (optional): newsletters and offers where permitted/consented; you can opt out at any time.
- Security & fraud prevention; legal compliance; enforce our Terms.
We use data only for these purposes or compatible ones. If we need new uses, we’ll notify you and seek consent where required.
4) Cookies, Analytics & Advertising
We use:
- Essential cookies (site operation, security).
- Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site usage.
- Advertising pixels (e.g., Meta Pixel) to measure ads and reach interested audiences.
Your choices: You can manage cookies in-browser; some features may not work without them.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): Where required by law, we treat a valid GPC signal as an opt-out of “sale/share” or targeted advertising for that browser.
Do Not Track: We do not respond to DNT due to lacking standards.
5) How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data for money. We may “share” identifiers and internet/electronic activity with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising (e.g., via Meta Pixel) where permitted—see §10 to opt out.
- Contractors / Service Professionals: If you’re a Customer, we share your request details exclusively with one Contractor at a time so they can contact you for the job. If the first Contractor declines or is unavailable, we may sequentially offer the lead to another Contractor; leads are not shared simultaneously. Contractors must use the information only for the requested job (no resale/scraping/unrelated marketing).
- Service Providers (processors): hosting, payment processing (PCI-compliant), email/SMS, analytics, fraud prevention, and customer support vendors under confidentiality and security obligations.
- Business partners/referrals: only in connection with a joint service you request.
- Legal/Protection: to comply with law, enforce terms, or protect rights/safety.
- Corporate events: merger, acquisition, or asset transfer (we’ll provide notice and require successors to honor this Policy).
Controller note: Equitas is a controller for our platform operations. Contractors receiving a Customer’s data become independent controllers for their direct dealings with that Customer and must honor applicable law and opt-out requests.
6) Communications, Marketing & TCPA/CAN-SPAM
By providing contact info, you consent to service-related emails, calls, and texts. Automated systems may be used where permitted. Message/data rates may apply.
- Marketing: We send marketing only where permitted or with consent; opt out anytime (emails: Unsubscribe link; SMS: reply STOP).
- Contractor outreach: A matched Contractor may call or text about your request.
- We comply with TCPA, CAN‑SPAM, carrier rules, and honor STOP/opt‑out requests.
7) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict/opt out, or receive a portable copy of your data, and to object to certain processing.
How to exercise rights / appeal: Email [email protected]. We’ll verify your identity and respond within the timelines required by law. Virginia/Colorado residents may appeal a decision by replying “Appeal” to our response or emailing again with “Privacy Appeal” in the subject.
California (CCPA/CPRA) disclosures:
- We collect the categories listed in §1.
- We do not sell personal information for money.
- We may “share” certain identifiers and internet/electronic activity for cross-context behavioral advertising (e.g., via pixels).
- You have the right to opt out of sale/sharing and to limit use of sensitive data (we don’t use sensitive data beyond allowed purposes).
- We do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
- Authorized agents may submit requests; we will verify authorization.
EEA/UK legal bases (GDPR): performance of a contract; legitimate interests (e.g., improving services, fraud prevention); consent (marketing/cookies where required); and legal obligations.
8) Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 provided data, contact us and we will delete it. Teens 13–17 should use the services with parental permission; we contract only with adults.
9) Security & Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (e.g., HTTPS, access controls, monitoring). No system is 100% secure.
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes described (e.g., during an active relationship and for legal/accounting obligations), then delete or de-identify it.
10) Your Privacy Choices (Opt-Outs)
- Email marketing: Click Unsubscribe in any message.
- SMS marketing: Reply STOP (or END/UNSUBSCRIBE).
- Targeted advertising / sale-sharing: Use our “Your Privacy Choices” / “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link (when available) or send a request to [email protected]. We also honor GPC signals where required.
- Cookies: Adjust browser settings or use our cookie banner (if provided). Some features may not function without cookies.
11) International Transfers
We are U.S.-based. If you access our services from abroad, your data may be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different privacy laws. Where required (e.g., EEA/UK), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or consent, and implement safeguards.
12) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll change the Effective Date and, for material changes, provide a prominent notice (e.g., site banner or email). Your continued use after updates means you accept the changes.
